A lot of times I only apply one layer of colors in my sketches. When I have more time I like to add a second layer after my first watercolor layer has dried. I love it when you can see a layer underneath a transparent layer of watercolors. To me it is one of the beautiful aspects of this medium: it’s transparent quality.

In lectures 13 and 14 of The Never Ending Workshop you will see how I apply the translucent colors. As a part of a series of four, these two lectures complete the series of the sketch with the car in the foreground and the snackbar behind it.

I look forward to seeing your results in the comments of the lectures or hearing from you on Instagram and Facebook.

Happy sketching!
